What is Jardiance?
Jardiance is the brand name for empagliflozin, an oral medication used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes. It belongs to the drug class known as SGLT2 inhibitors (sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 inhibitors). By reducing glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, Jardiance helps lower blood sugar levels and may also reduce the risk of cardiovascular death in certain patients with heart disease.
